Melanson Motors is proud to offer this stunning 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. Documented by Vintage Vehicle Services, General Motors, this Chevelle is a true A51 Canadian Car presented with its correct colours and options. The A51 is considered one of the rarest and most misunderstood Chevelle options. In the U.S, “A51” simply stood for bucket seats. However, in Canada it stood for “The Sport Option” (or SS396 as it is better known). It is commonly believed that all SS396 cars were a 138 code, and that a 136 code car with a 396 must be fake. However, the ONLY exception to that rule is the Canadian production A51 Sport Option cars, of which only a handful were ever produced. This Chevelle is one of those cars! The vehicle received a recent nut and bolt restoration. It has been painted in its original colour of Verde Green and has a beautiful black interior with strato buckets and console. The drivetrain is non-numbers, but period correct with the 396 block and M20 transmission both late 1966 production. This Chevelle sounds incredible! It drives excellent and shifts smoothly. Brand new custom order Continental Extreme contact tires wrap the new 17 inch Rallye style wheels. This Chevelle was built on September 26, 1966 at the Oshawa Ontario Plant and sold new at Alex Connor’s Eastown Chevrolet in London, Ontario. An incredible opportunity to purchase an excellent, rare and documented example of a 1967 Chevelle L34!
